The non-judgmental companionship and comfort of therapy dogs contributes to healthier communities, by alleviating stress, enhancing learning environments, and providing individuals with a sense of emotional security.

In addition to regular therapy dog visits, OTD empowers children struggling with reading and communication skills through the Reading Education Assistance Dogs® program. Our R.E.A.D.® teams work one-on-one with small groups of students for a full semester, and have had measurable advancements on their reading levels. Dogs may not be able to read, but they make great listeners and help boost the confidence of students in an encouraging and safe environment!
